A tragedy took place in 1928 where the village was nearly destroyed by a serious fire. However, an airplane which was passing by reported in time the fire to the authorities of Chateauroux who quickly took the necessary steps.

In order to prevent any other disaster, the commune was equipped the following year with an avant-garde water pump which is still the fire brigade’s pride.

Since the Liberation, Saint-Valentin commune has known all the changes of rural France, never losing time to benefit from new equipment.

However the landscape was deeply modified when France Tele-Diffusion installed about fourty pylons on a part of the commune territory as well as Saint-Aoustrille commune.

Today, those pylons were replaced by autonomous encircling aerials "Alliss", there are six situated on saint-Valentin commune.
