There were nearly 2000 people gathered in the lovers’garden to form a huge heart on Sunday the 13th of February in the middle of the afternoon.

A love song was immortalized on glazed paper for posterity. 

A rush on the France-Télécom stand during meetings on Internet called "netmeetings" with the other three countries:

 - Sankt-Valentin in Austria on Saturdays afternoon at 3pm
 - Sakuto Cho in Japan on Saturdays morning at 11.30 am
 - Saint-Valentin in Quebec on Sundays afternoon at 5 pm

It is an opportunity for the mayors to exchange information, to invite each other to discover "their Saint-Valentin" and to fix, why not, a new appointment for next year lovers festival in 2001.

Noriko and Takayuki got married in 1999 in Sakuto Cho, the Japanese Saint-Valentin.
They decided in 2000 to come to confirm their wedding during the lovers festival in Saint-Valentin.

Diploma, flowers, gifts came on top of their happiness.

During the three days of the festival, a special postmark, stamps like a heart signed by Yves Saint-Laurent and ready-to-mail envelopes and cards of Saint-Valentin village satisfied once more the lovers... of stamps.
